I saw this last night, oh my Holy God, it was brilliant! Sexy sexy Mr Darcy, gay-looking but obviously straight Mr Bingley (;D), Keira Knightley pouting her way through but it actually didn't bother me, Brenda Blethyn, absolutely hilarious!! And Mr Darcy, well, what can I say? Other than... [glow=red,2,300] PHWOAR!!!!![/glow]

Actually, I didn't even know it was coming out ! But I am sure I will love it. I have read the book a 101 times (no, I have not actually read the books a 101 times!) so I am sure to like the movie! ;D Now that I know about it I can't wait till it comes out where I live! Keira Knightley is a really good actress, and from what some of you are saying it sounds like she did a good job in this film. She seems to like the period pieces, I have noticed. Not that there is anything wrong with period pieces, I actually think she does very well in those kind of movies. Well, there is me getting of topic as usual ! Anyway, I can't wait!

interesting to see that you guys all actually liked this version. i've heard mixed things and p&p is one of my favorite books of all time (love jane austen, she's my hero). now i'm going to have to put this on my "must see" list.
back in 1999 or so, the bbc did a mini-series that is absolutely phenominal! if you can find the dvds i'd suggest checking it out.

Yeah, the 95 series really set the benchmark not just for p&p but for period pieces in general. You can't compare it to the film though, because it was six hours long, whereas the film's only two, so they HAD to condense and cut stuff out, there was just no way around it. For example, they dropped Mrs Hurst and made Miss Bingley twice as b*tchy. To develop her character as well as all the other stuff would have just been too long.

Actually, it's coming out to limited theaters in America. Which is really stupid! I saw the trailer for it though and it looks really good. But I always loved Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Darcy will always be Colin Firth to me. hehe.
